Brentford agree £17m deal with Burnley for winger Jaidon Anthony

Brentford have agreed a £17million deal with Burnley to sign winger Jaidon Anthony, according to the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones. The Bees will pay an initial £15million for the 26-year-old, with a further £2million due in add-ons.
Anthony is set to undergo a medical early next week, with Brentford hopeful of completing the switch by Tuesday. The move would represent a significant coup for Brentford as they continue to strengthen their squad during a busy summer transfer window.
Other targets pursued this summer
The Daily Mail reports that Brentford had also made attempts to sign Cologne winger Said El Mala this summer, alongside Bazoumana Toure, who is instead set to join Newcastle United.
Brentford are understood to retain an interest in another Burnley player, Zian Flemming, suggesting the two clubs could do further transfer business before the window shuts on 1 September.
What Anthony would bring to Brentford
Anthony’s arrival would add attacking width and pace to Brentford’s ranks as they look to build on their Premier League status. The winger has been a regular performer in recent seasons and represents the type of experienced, ready-made signing that Brentford’s recruitment model has favoured in the past.
Should the deal go through as planned, Anthony would become one of the more notable arrivals of Brentford’s summer business so far, with the club continuing to be active across multiple positions as they prepare for the new campaign.
