Worthing boss Hinshelwood can’t wait for maiden National League fixture list

Worthing manager Adam Hinshelwood says his players cannot wait for the release of their first-ever National League fixture list this week, as the Rebels prepare for a landmark season in non-league football’s top flight.
The West Sussex club secured their place among the elite after winning the National League South title last season, earning promotion to the fifth tier of English football for the first time in their history.
According to The Non-League Football Paper, Hinshelwood believes the true scale of Worthing’s achievement will hit home when the fixtures are unveiled on Friday, giving supporters their first proper glimpse of the journey ahead.
A season Worthing have dreamed of
Hinshelwood, who previously managed York City, has overseen a remarkable rise for the Rebels, culminating in last season’s title triumph in National League South. That success has propelled the club into a division featuring some of the biggest names in non-league football.
Speaking to The NLP, Hinshelwood said: “For me, when the fixture list comes out on Friday, to see Worthing going…”
Although the full extent of his remarks has not been made available, the sentiment is clear: Hinshelwood and his squad are eager to see exactly who they will face, and when, as they embark on their inaugural National League campaign.
Excitement building across the club
Friday’s release of the fixture list is one of the most eagerly anticipated dates on the non-league calendar, with clubs across the pyramid discovering their opening-day opponents and the shape of their season for the first time.
For Worthing, the occasion carries extra significance given their history-making promotion. The club will be keen to see how their travel schedule shapes up given the National League’s wider geographical spread compared to National League South.
Hinshelwood’s side will be aiming to establish themselves at the higher level after climbing through the divisions, with the manager’s experience of senior football management, including his time at York City, expected to prove valuable as Worthing adjust to life among the National League’s established outfits.
