Manchester United’s priority remains finding a new left-back, with Newcastle United understood to be unwilling to sanction the sale of their primary target, Lewis Hall. As an alternative, United have turned their attention to Leipzig’s David Raum, while also keeping tabs on Iliman Ndiaye and Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly as they look to add further reinforcements in midfield and up front.

Lewis-Skelly’s situation has attracted wider interest, with reports suggesting he has also been offered to Chelsea. Arteta, though, has moved to praise the teenager’s progress at Arsenal amid the growing transfer speculation surrounding his future.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Pep Chavarria and have reportedly set a deadline for offers on Enzo Fernandez amid interest from Manchester City, while also being linked with a surprise approach for Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi.
