Corinthians unveil Nike Total 90 third kit in nostalgic nod to noughties football

Corinthians have unveiled a new Nike Total 90 third kit for the 2025/26 season, reviving one of football’s most beloved design eras with a striking black and orange strip. The Brazilian giants debuted the shirt during their two-one defeat to Flamengo on Sunday.
Nike’s Total 90 range was a defining fixture of English and European football in the early 2000s, worn by countless Premier League stars, and its revival is likely to strike a chord with UK fans as much as those in Brazil.
A blackout look with fiery detailing
According to 90min, the kit is part of a campaign branded “Total Corinthians” and features a predominantly black jersey with subtle striping, offset by bold orange trim. The Nike swoosh, the club crest and the recognisable Total 90 circular number print beneath the badge all stand out against the dark base, with the same circular motif repeated on the back of the shirt.
A retro T90 insignia is stitched inside the collar as a further nod to the design’s heritage. Black shorts and socks finished with orange detailing complete the head-to-toe outfit, giving the strip a striking blackout aesthetic.
Club and Nike explain the tribute
Corinthians marketing superintendent Vinicius Manfredi said the shirt was designed to “pay homage to a generation that marked the club forever” and to “inspire the new protagonists who today wear this shirt with the same pride,” 90min reports.
Nike Fisia marketing director Renato Aguiar added: “This shirt represents a bridge between generations. Total 90 was a symbol of an era marked by innovation and boldness in football, and Corinthians, with its historical achievements and legendary characters, is the ideal stage to revive and reinvent this heritage.”
Part of a wider Total 90 revival
Nike’s push to bring back the Total 90 identity has already stretched beyond South America in recent seasons, tapping into a wave of nostalgia among supporters who grew up watching the boots and shirts of that era at grounds across the UK and Europe.
Corinthians’ new third kit, worn for the first time in Sunday’s defeat to Flamengo, is now the latest example of that retro trend making its mark on the modern game.
